John R. Bogdan Jr, 81, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Wednesday December 6, 2023 at Cooper Medical Center in Camden, NJ.
Born in Trenton, NJ, John was a lifetime resident of Lawrenceville and a dedicated member of St. Hedwig Parish. He was a past president of the Polish Arts Club of Trenton to which he devoted many years of loyal service. He was also an avid gardener who loved the smell of fresh flowers and found much joy in his tomato plants. In addition, John was a talented baker, who relished his annual babka-making duties.
In 2008, John married his loving wife, Julianne Kmiec. He was her “honey bear” and she was his “honey bee.” They spent many happy years together and looked forward to their annual visits to Wildwood Crest and Cape May, NJ.
John was a graduate of St. Hedwig Elementary School, Trenton Catholic High School and Trenton Junior College, now known as Mercer Country Community College. He spent much of his career in information technology working as a computer programmer at Cooper Medical Center in Camden. Prior to his time at Cooper, he worked in the banking industry.
Son of the late John Bogdan Sr. and Sophie Debiec; he is survived by his wife, Julianne Kmiec; brother, Joseph Bogdan, and his wife, Sally, of Ewing, NJ; niece and goddaughter, Jennifer Bogdan Jones, and her husband, Alun, of Pawtucket, RI; and many cousins, friends, and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 12, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church located at 872 Brunswick Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08638.
Burial will take place at St. Hedwig Cemetery located at 470 Eggerts Crossing Road in Ewing, NJ.
The visitation for John will take place immediately prior to the funeral service on Tuesday December 12, 2023 from 08:30-10:30 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Hedwig Parish or the Polish Arts Club of Trenton.
