John Bogan was a kind, gentle and generous man who not only believed in service, but lived it. A deeply religious man, John served his parish of St. Hedwig as a trustee, lector, and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Hedwig Council No. 7244 and a 4th Degree member of Bishop Griffin Assembly No. 655. John also served on the Council leadership team.
Proud of his Polish Heritage, he was a long-time member of both the Trenton Polish Businessmen’s Association, serving as its President for many years; and the Polish Arts Club of Trenton where he served as President, three times, as a Vice President, and Treasurer. He cared deeply about the mission of the both clubs, especially the Trenton Polish Arts Club’s scholarship program.
He spent a large portion of his time running errands for family members, taking them to doctor appointments, food shopping, etc., anything that they needed. He was always ready to put the needs of others ahead of his own. With his wife, Julianne, he was seeing to the care of his mother-in-law, Florence Kmiec, who recently turned 100. He never seemed to know how to say no to anyone, family or friend. John set an example for all of us that will be difficult to follow. He was a friend and we will miss him. Our prayers and condolences are with him and his wife, Julianne, and his family. May his soul rest in peace with the Lord!
