Obituary of Bernadette F Murphy

Bernadette F. Murphy, 87, of Trenton died Monday at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Trenton and a former resident of Mercerville she has resided in Trenton for the past 44 years. She retired in 1986 from the State of New Jersey, Division of Employment Security as a Senior Claims Examiner after 16 years of service. Bernadette was a graduate of Trenton High School, Class of 1939. She also took college courses while employed through the State of New Jersey for her career advancement. During World War II she was employed by Eastern Aircraft in Ewing Township. She was an avid swimmer and tennis player in her youth and was also a talented artist. Later in life she enjoyed traveling and especially her trips to the Jersey shore. Daughter of the late Bernard and Helen Kosobucka Czaplicki, step-daughter of the late Josephine Siroka, wife of the late, James W. Murphy, mother of the late Eilene Murphy and sister of the late Edward and Leonard Czaplicki; she is survived by her son, James R. Murphy, Esq. of Trenton, a brother, Raymond Czaplicki of Lawrence Township and several nieces, nephews, cousins including a very special cousin Dolores Baggaley of Lawrence Township. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 AM from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, Trenton. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery in Ewing Township. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
