Margaret T. “Midge” Smith, 83, of Lawrenceville died peacefully on Tuesday January 13, 2015.
Born in Trenton, Margaret was a Lawrenceville resident most of her life. She retired in 1993 after many years of service with Carter-Wallace of Cranbury and had formerly been employed with Bayer Aspirin of Trenton.
Margaret enjoyed being with her family and became a “Softball Grandmom” as she followed her granddaughter play softball during her school years and then traveled throughout the country watching her play competitive travel softball.
Daughter of the late James and Agnes Cavanaugh Duncan and sister of the late Gilda Baus; Margaret is survived by her husband, John “Jack” M. Smith; her daughter, Kathleen Warchol and her husband Peter of Levittown; her beloved granddaughter, Dana Pallotta of Levittown; her brother-in-law, Charles D. Smith and his wife Anna of Pennington; her sister-in-law, Joan Smith of Columbus, NJ and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Thursday at 1 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with the Rev. Nina Reeder, Pastor of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Ewing Cemetery.
Relative and friends may call on Thursday from 11 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of NJ, 226 Haddonfield Road, 2nd Floor, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
