Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Rossi

Elizabeth “Betsy” Ann Rossi, 61, died peacefully on January 2, 2015 at Clare Bridge of Hamilton surrounded by her loving family. Betsy was born in Cedar Rapids, IA and spent her formative years throughout the Midwest before settling in Lawrenceville, NJ. She was also a resident of Chesterfield, NJ, Voorhees, NJ, Richmond, VA, and Charlotte, NC. A graduate of Lawrence High School and Rider University, Betsy earned a Masters in Music Education from Trenton State College. She taught music at Chesterfield Elementary School for 18 years before pursuing a position in planned giving at the Deborah Heart and Lung Foundation. Betsy also served as the Planned Giving and Major Gifts Officer at the College of New Jersey and as the Director of Development for the School of Education at Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to her passion for helping others, Betsy was also an accomplished pianist, a Beatles fan, an art lover, and a talented cook and seamstress. Daughter of the late Frances Anderson Davis, Betsy is survived by her father, Earl L. Davis; her husband, Gilbert “Chip” Rossi; her two sons David Rossi and his wife Teri, and Marc Rossi and his wife Kristen; her grandchildren Joseph and Caroline Rossi; her brothers Philip Davis and his wife Linda, and Stephen Davis and his wife Elisabeth; her sister-in-law Linda McDermott and her husband Girard; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Madonna Mausoleum in Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Memorial contributions in Betsy’s memory may be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration at Radnor Station Building 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, PA 19087 (theaftd.org), or to the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648 (churchofsaintann.net).
