Carmina Cifelli, 81, of Lawrenceville died peacefully at home on Sunday surrounded by her loving family. Born in Colli a Volturno, Italy, she resided in Pettoranello Di Molise, Italy, for 37 years before moving to Princeton where she resided for 2 years and eventually moving to Lawrenceville where she has resided for the last 42 years. Carmina’s life was centered on her family, taking care of her children and grandchildren whom she adored. She enjoyed tending to her garden and walking around the neighborhood, talking with her neighbors and especially enjoyed strolling the grounds of Rider University, which brought her great pleasure. She was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Ferranti Leva whom both died when she was quite young. She was then adopted by her loving parents, the late Michele and Luigia Toto. She was also predeceased by her husband, Vincenzo Cifelli, her brothers, Francesco and Domenico Leva and her nephew Antonio Leva. She is survived by loving children, Concetta Mastroianni and her husband Angelo, Giovanni Cifelli and his wife Bina, Florida Toto and her husband Castrensio and Luigi Cifelli and his wife Connie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Mastroianni, Vince Cifelli, Marisa Mastroianni, Joseph Toto, Mark Cifelli and his wife Nicole, Diane Van Embden and her husband Edward, Nicholas Cifelli and Danielle Cifelli, her nephew, Mario Leva and niece, Teresa Leva both of Italy and brothers in law, Antonio Cifelli and his wife Clarice of Lawrenceville, Lidio Cifelli and his wife Vincenza of Montreal Canada and sister in law, Agnese Marsella from Venezuela. Carmina’s funeral will be held on Thursday beginning at 8 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 AM at the Church of St. Ann, Lawrenceville. Entombment will follow in the Ewing Church Mausoleum, Ewing. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home. An organization dedicated to help less fortunate children and to support local community agencies that work with and benefit children.
