Obituary of Edna M. Neff

Edna M. Neff, 95, of Washington’s Crossing, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at her daughter Jean’s home. Born in Trenton, NJ; she was a resident of Washington Crossing for 70 years. Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her gentle, caring and unconditional loving nature. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she enjoyed baking her famous Christmas cookies for her family and friends. Some of her hobbies included knitting, puzzles, reading, writing, poetry, short stories and animals. Throughout her life Edna believed in keeping with traditions, such as the legendary Neff family egg hunts and keeping a daily journal. Daughter of the late William and Ethel Hamilton, wife of the late Frederick Neff, sister of the late Josephine, William and Irving; her “like a son” Billy Huber, mother-in-law of the late John Deems and Joe Budny; she is survived by her children Joyce Deems and John Hartpence, Jean Budny and Frank Higgins and Joan and James Curry; her grandchildren Joel Deems, Jill Dowd, Kelly (Cris) Kolbjornsen, Vincent Budny, Karen (Rene) Palafox; 7 great-grandchildren Maximus, Joel, John, Joyce, Macy, Liam and Alyssa; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Blackie. A time of reflection will be held on Sunday at 5:30 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Relatives and friends can call on Sunday, November 17, from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
