Obituary of Michael J. McCarthy

Michael J. McCarthy died on Thursday at Care One Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hamilton.
Born in Astoria, NY he was a longtime Lawrenceville resident.
He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Mr. McCarthy was a chemical engineer at FMC Corporation in Princeton before his retirement in 1986.
Son of the late Michael J. and Margaret O’Sullivan McCarthy, and husband of the late Josephine M. McCarthy, he is survived by his two daughters: Frances J. McCarthy and Margaret McCarthy, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road in Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. at The Church of St. Ann in Lawrenceville.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Hedwig Cemetery in Ewing Township.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions in Michael’s memory be made to the Friends of Mercer County Library, Lawrence Branch, 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
