Obituary of Marjorie I. Fitton

Marjorie I. Fitton, 92, of Lawrenceville passed away peacefully on Thursday at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center at Morris Hall in Lawrenceville. Born in Trenton, she graduated from Cathedral High School and was a resident of Lawrence Township for over 60 years. Marge’s faith, love of volunteering and family were most important in her life. She was an avid reader and a friend to many. Marge was a faithful parishioner of the Church of St. Ann and was a lifelong volunteer at the Church. She was a founding member of the Saint Ann School library and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She volunteered for many years at Lawrence Township Meals On Wheels and read for the Recording for the Blind program. In addition she was proud of being an air raid warden during World War II. Daughter of the late Charles and Margaret McCarthy, wife of the late John N. Fitton and mother of the late Kathleen Fitton, she is survived by her 3 daughters, Patricia Beach and her husband Richard, Lois Fitton and her husband Chris Draper, and Marjorie Fitton; her son, Norman Fitton and his wife Cindy; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Marge on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceville Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 am in the daily chapel at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a memorial contribution to the Church of Saint Ann Faith Development Center.
