Obituary of Teresa Smith

Teresa Smith, 76, of Fairfax VA., died Friday at Morningside Assisted Living in Raleigh, NC. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY she had resided in Fairfax since 1970. Mrs. Smith graduated from Jersey City State College and then attended St. Catherine's School of Nursing. She earned her Masters in Counseling from the University of Virginia. She was a registered nurse who worked in many different areas in the healthcare field throughout her career. She was most proud of her counseling work. She developed programs for assertive training, drug and alcohol abuse recovery, and living with diabetes. Mrs. Smith was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Fairfax, VA where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Sinclair Nadler and wife of the late Charles R. Smith, she is survived by her son, Charles R. Smith II and his wife Carissa of Raleigh, NC, her grandson, Jefferson Aydan Smith, her brother Joseph Nadler of Lawrenceville, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday begining at 10 AM from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road in Lawrenceville. Burial will be in Lawrenceville Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
