Obituary of Gregory J. McDermott

Gregory J. McDermott, 103, of Hamilton Township, died Monday at Care One in Hamilton Township.
Born in Trenton, he had resided in Hamilton for the last 60 years.
Mr. McDermott retired in 1989 from Colorado Fuel and Iron formerly John A. Roebling & Sons in Trenton after forty years of service as a blueprint analyst. After retiring he went to work with NADE in Bordentown for another thirty years.
He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, and a life member of Knights of Columbus Trenton Council # 355, and Past President of the Roebling Alumni Association.
He was active with the Boy Scouts in his earlier years
Son of the late Michael and Nettie Godown McDermott, husband of the late Florence Rauth and father of the late Robert G. McDermott, he is survived by a daughter Cynthia J. Schoch and her husband Donald, a son Girard D. McDermott and his wife Linda, and a daughter-in-law Carol McDermott. Also surviving are grandchildren Marcie Dean and her husband Brian, Jeremy McDermott and his wife Lana, Lauran Hocquaux and her husband Remi, Michael McDermott and his wife Jade and David McDermott and his wife Michele, his great grandchildren Katelyn and Meghan Dean, and Braeden, Cullen, and Erinna McDermott, and Tristan, Liam, and Kieran Hocquaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11AM at Holy Angels Church in Hamilton Township.
Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Hamilton Township.
Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a memorial contribution in Greg’s name to St. Raphael Archangel Fund, 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
