For 45 years Monica was my best friend and companion. A wonderful wife, mother and teacher, she gave me the greatest feeling of pride anyone could ever ask for. We will all miss her dearly, but we never forget what she gave us while she was with us...I will try my best to keep her memory and family in the spirit she wanted us to have.

I have the fondest memories of Mrs. Orloff and how she made me feel. Meg and I shared a play date at her house in Pleasanton, CA. We spent the day swimming and playing in her back yard. When we came in for lunch, Mrs. Orloff offered me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I had an unusual taste in sandwiches and unlike most kids, I did not like PB&J. Mrs. Orloff burst out laughing when I asked for a peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich. Despite my odd taste in lunch, she was kind enough to make me my sandwich and make me feel welcome and special as a guest in her home. The Orloff family moved to New Jersey shortly after that play date, and I will never forget how I felt when they moved away. It was the first time that I ever felt what it was like to loose someone dear to your heart. Your mothers laughter and smile where so bright, that I can still remember them from when I was 10 years old. I'm sure she is smiling down on you and through each of you now. Love and Peace - Kelly

We met in Pleasanton, CA. Our kids brought us together with their flurry of activities in gymnastics, brownies, schools, graduations and beyond. You moved to New Jersey and bond held strong. I remember as we were waiving goodbye you said, â??Donâ??t tell me are going to write unless you really intend to.â? Our friendship grew even though we were miles apart.
I treasure all the memories of our times together and I can only wonder what more might have come. In my heart, I will always remember you and your family and be forever richer for the friendship we shared.

I have only known Monica for a short time, but she impacted my life. Whenever her name was mentioned at a Lawrence function, the room would light up with applause and pride. She was a lovely woman, graceful and kind. Obviously, loved by many. God bless her family and friends. May you feel the prayers of those who love you and the embrace of God's love.

I will always remember Monica for her incredible courage and determination. When Monica first bacame ill, I could see the worry in her face-I never saw her angry, or heard her complain. After she left to get better, she returned with a look of pure determination and strength!I remember her telling me that she felt a responsibility to educate people about the silent, deadly disease-and she did in so many ways.
We all know she's not finished yet!
I will miss Monica's kind words of wisdom and will always cherish her friendship.

Having known John and Monica since the early 70's, I have been fortunate to have enjoyed Monica's wisdom and humor for sometime in addition to the love she showed for so many. The strength displayed in dealing with her disease and that she didn't want any of us to worry about her should serve as an example for all of us. We will miss her.

Mrs. Orloff was first a neighbor who lived down the street, then she was my brother's teacher, she then became a coworker I looked up to, and finally she was Monica, a friend. A friend I could turn to for advice, a laugh, or a fresh perspective. Monica, my friend, you have given strength to so many around you and will be missed tremendously.

Even though I am an adult now, you will always be Mrs. Orloff to me - the woman who hosted me so graciously for a million sleep overs with Megan, and who was a big part of my growing up, too, be it at swim team, Halloween, a talent show or a neighborhood kid hang-out, you were there, too, and you will forever be there in my memories. Thank you for being a part of my life.

For a large part of high school if I was not at my house, I was at Meg's. Mrs. Orloff was the other mother's voice of caution in my head all those nights driving around with Megan. I have so many great memories of spending time at the house - and that one crazy trip to St Maarten.... She was a special woman who touched so many people. She will be greatly missed.

I feel like it was just the other day when I pulled into the Orloff's driveway and began hysterically crying because I had just gotten my first (and only) speeding ticket. I vividly remember your mom helping me practice what to say to Pat Clancy! She was so understanding and so supportive of me, through the many antics we got ourselves into! Your mom was always such a source of comfort, humor and always made me feel so at home with your family. I have a million fond memories of days and nights spent at your house. I am so very sorry for your loss and wish you all peace and comfort in these difficult days to come.

It was I who introduced John to Monica those many years ago at a Rutgars party. It is said that a man's wife is his better half. In Monica's case the percentage is significantly higher. In all cases Monica was a lady in the true sense of the word, and i shall miss her. Tom.

Arnette and I had the wonderful opportunity to work with John and Monica in building them a new home in St. James Plantation, NC. We were only a few months into the project when Monica found out she had cancer. Arnette was able to step in and finish making the selections for Monica while she received treatment. We did get to see Monica a few times whlie they were here visiting. We all were hoping that she was going to be one of the rare survivors of this deadly type of cancer because she fought it off so well and for so long. She surely is incredibly strong!!! Her kindness and genuineness will always be remembered.

What I remember most about Mrs. Orloff was being in her 3rd third class and one day we made chocolate chip cookie dough and she was going to take them home during lunch, but on her way out she dropped it all and the next day she came in with a whole bunch of chocolate chip cookies just for us. That was so nice of her to do. I really enjoyed being in her class!

We remeber Monica as a kind, sweet, gentle, honest soul. Always straight forward and thoughtful of others. We enjoyed knowing her and the orloff family as friends during our mutual stays in California. Both our familys left California in the 1980's. John and I enjoyed a close working relationship for many years prior to, and after we left California. Monica was always a gracious hostess when business brought us to New Jersey.
It was with very deep sadness we learned that her battle with cancer had ended. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family. YOu are in out thoughts and prayers as you deal with your great loss.
