Obituary of Noreen S. Brennan

Noreen S. Brennan, 74, of Ewing, passed away on July 12 at Capital Health System Fuld with her family by her side.
Born in Oak Park, IL, she was the youngest child of Timothy and Catherine Sullivan, devoted wife of John W. Brennan of Ewing and devoted mother of Michael T. Brennan of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by a sister, Mary C. Yokan of Whitefish, MT, and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward M. and Shirley Sullivan of Kalispell, MT, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brennan was a graduate of Trinity College, Washington DC, and earned a certificate from the Radcliffe Business Program and a Master's degree from Northwestern University in art history. As a slide librarian, she held professional positions at the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Maryland and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY.
In 1970 Mrs. Brennan moved to Cranbury, NJ and in 1979 to Ewing. In addition to her interest in art history, she was an enthusiastic swimmer in her younger years, and throughout her life enjoyed travel in Europe, Canada and the American West. She resided in Florence, Italy and in Oxford and London, England, with her husband, and particularly treasured visits to Vienna and Paris. Widely read in art history and in modern literature, she took particular interest in the paintings and life of Mary Cassatt. She also greatly enjoyed classical music, especially masters of the baroque, Bach, Telemann and Vivaldi.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brennan will be held on Saturday beginning at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon at the Church of St. Ann, Lawrenceville. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton.
Friends and relatives may call on Friday from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
