Patricia A. Wilk, 49, died at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 2, 2011, after a lengthy battle with oral cancer.
Born in Trenton, she lived in Lawrenceville her entire life and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1979.
Predeceased by her loving father Stanley Wilk, Sr., and maternal and paternal grandparents, and companion Michael F. Ferguson, Patricia is survived by her beloved mother Ann M. Wilk, loving sisters and brother, Ann C. Wilk, Deborah Wilk-Stansfield and her husband Eric Stansfield, Susanne K. McIntyre, Stanley Wilk, Jr., and wife Elizabeth; Cioci Alice and her husband Edward J. Laird, Godfather Walter S. Pietras and his wife Phyllis, Godmother Jean Nelson; and loved nieces and nephews Jennifer Ryan, Diana M. Wilk, Melissa McIntyre, Rev. Michael J. Hall, Christopher R. Wilk, Kenneth B. McIntyre Jr., numerous cousins, and many loyal and caring friends.
During her short lifetime, Patty had been employed in construction, landscaping, retail sales, and office positions. Patty was a member of the Lawrence Township Democratic Club. Prior to her illness, Patty had been attending computer-training classes at ARC and the Mercer County Library. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cross-stitching, making gifts for family and friends, gardening (in particular she created and maintained a Mother’s Day garden for her mom), boating, and fishing. Patty pursued various other arts and crafts and had a talent for drawing that was uniquely her own.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011, from 6 to 7 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday April, 16, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Hedwig, 872 Brunswick Avenue, Trenton with Reverend Dr. Jacek W. Labinski officiating assisted by Reverend Father Michael J. Hall and Deacon Barry J. Zadworny. Burial will be in the parish cemetery on Eggerts Crossing Road in Ewing Township.
Patty’s presence in our lives will be sorely missed, but our memories of this special child will sustain us.
