Anthony Edward Gibilisco, Sr., 74, of Hamilton entered into rest to be with the Lord on Monday, February 28, 2011, in Naples, FL.
Born in Trenton, Tony was a long-time resident of Hamilton. A barber by trade, he was the owner of Tony Gib’s Barber Shop for many years and retired from Keith’s Kuts Barber Shop in Ewing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and played in the U.S. Army Band.
A member of The Gideons International, he was active in prison and nursing home ministries and served as an usher at Calvary Chapel in Philadelphia. An accomplished musician, he ministered through music at numerous churches and events. He enjoyed fishing, watching his grandsons' sporting activities, and spending time with his family and friends at the Jersey shore and in Florida.
Tony was the son of the late Reverend Paul Gibilisco and Phyllis Ratkowski Gibilisco. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Celeste (Verde) Gibilisco and his children, Carla G. Hill and husband, Keith, of Hamilton, NJ, Lisa G. Rosa and husband, Noel, of Lakeland, FL, and Anthony E. Gibilisco, Jr., of Philadelphia, PA. Tony also leaves behind three grandchildren: Keith Hill, Jr., Scott Hill, and Gavin Rosa, his brother Joseph Gibilisco, his sister Phyllis Murphy and her husband Jerry. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Anthony and MaryAnn Verde, Guy and Beverly Verde, Diane and Michael Girard, Paulette and Reverend Arthur Piotrowski and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tony was also predeceased by his sister-in-law MaryAnn Gibilisco and brother-in-law Robert Verde.
Funeral services for Tony will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with Reverend Charles Atkins, Chaplain of the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility and Rob Paoletti, Assistant Pastor of Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia co-officiating. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
