Obituary of William J. Steele

William J. Steele Sr., 74, of Lawrenceville, died Monday at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, PA, and a former resident of Bucks County, Bill has resided in Lawrenceville for thirty-five years. Bill owned and operated Steelco, Inc. Heating & Cooling before his retirement. He was a veteran who served with the United States Marine Corps Reserve and was a member of Lawrence Township American Legion Post #414. Bill was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed NASCAR and cheering for Bill Elliott. Son of the late John and Margaret Laird Steele, he is survived by his wife Marilyn Crosta Steele, two sons William J. Steele Jr. and his wife Kelly and John Steele and his wife Careen, four daughters Beth Anne Bello and her husband Jeffrey, Sandra Anderson and Jay, Brenda Hambley and her husband Stanley, and Robin Stackhouse and her husband Chip. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A gathering of friends and family will take place on Friday evening from 5 to 8 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will be private in the Washington Crossing Pennsylvania National Cemetery with Reverend Gene Hartway of the New Life Fellowship Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Bill’s memory be made to the Benjamin Franklin Elementary School P.T.O. C/O 2939 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
