After being dedicated to raising her children she returned to the workforce, taking a job at Princeton University Press. Myrtle retired from Carter Wallace in 1990. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking (she was interviewed by the Trenton Times and had several recipes published), and taking care of her family and especially loved spending time with her granddaughter. Myrtle was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Victory Chapter #96, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 458, the Scottish American Club, and Saint Andrews Episcopal Church.
Daughter of the late John Albert Bissett and Janett Fredericks Bissett. Sister of the late John A. Bissett, Jr. and Clara Chapman. She is survived by her daughter Janet S. Ellis and her son William H. Ellis, Jr., her granddaughter Stacey L. Gorlaski and her husband Joseph. Close family members Roberta and Frederick Bentley III, and Dolores Maik. Her lifelong friend Lucy Zufah. Extended family Sybil Wiehl, Nan Harris, Jane D’andrea, Robert Lowthian, and Jan Modzelewski. Several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
