Obituary of Doris B. Goodwin

Doris B. Goodwin, 89, formerly of Ewing Township, died Sunday at home at Twining Village in Holland, PA. Born in Trenton, she resided most of her life in Ewing Township having moved to Twining Village two years ago. Doris was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ewing. She enjoyed the computer, bowling, pinochle, crochet and having fun. Doris was a former employee of Thermoid Rubber Company, Eastern Aircraft Company and retired as a purchaser for Educational Testing Service. Daughter of the late Budd and Rilla Bernasco Jefferies and wife of the late John E. Goodwin, and sister of the late Eleanor Walton, Imogene McKeen, Leota (Ody) Lund and Budd Jefferies, she is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law Linda Lee Wilson and her husband John and Sally Ann Ashmen and her husband Barry Ashmen. Also surviving are her sister and best friend Betty Sumner, several nieces and nephews, and longtime childhood friend Elaine Haney. The funeral will be held on Friday at 12 noon at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will be in the Ewing Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Friday from 10 AM to 12 noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Doris’ memory be made to the Twining Village Resident Trust Fund, 280 Middle Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966 or to a charity of the donor’s choice in her memory.
