Obituary of Franklyn Bud Reading

Franklyn T. “Bud” Reading of Lawrenceville, died Thursday.
Born in Trenton, he had been a resident of Lawrenceville for sixty years.
Bud retired from the Grover Lumber Company in Princeton after thirty years of service.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of WW II.
He was a former Chief of the Lawrenceville Fire Company from 1970 until 1973. His memberships included the Lawrence Township Firemen’s Relief Association, Mercer County Fire Chief’s Association and the Mercer County Beneficial Association.
Son of the late Frank and Marjorie Hughes Reading and brother of the late Alfred Reading and Dorothy Clugston and father-in-law of the late Theodore Wilk, he is survived by his wife of sixty-two years Marian Maurer Reading; a daughter Karen Wilk, and a son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Karen Reading. Also surviving are five grandchildren Kevin Jr., Christina, Kaleen and Caitlyn Reading and Heather Wilk.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 10 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with Reverend Jeffrey A. Vamos, pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville officiating.
Burial will be in the Lawrenceville Cemetery.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home. The Lawrenceville Fire Company services will be held at 5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bud’s memory may be made to the Lawrenceville Fire Company, 64 Phillips Ave. Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
