Obituary of Genevieve Jean Bittner

Genevieve “Jean” Bittner of Lawrenceville died Saturday at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Langhorne, Pa. Born in Newark, Jean was a resident of Lawrenceville for the past 50 years. Jean was employed by the RCA Corporation in both Harrison and Lawrenceville and retired as a service administrator in1986 after many years of service. She was a devoted parishioner of the Church of St. Ann and served on numerous committees within the church. She was the coordinator of the Miraculous Medal Novena and was a member and held numerous leadership positions in the Altar Rosary Society at the church. Jean also volunteered at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center. Daughter of the late Frank and Angelina Shiro LaMotta, and wife of the late Vito Jack Bittner, she is survived by her two daughters, Karen Pelletteri and her husband Barry and Lynn Loyer and her husband Mark; three grandchildren, Kristin and Stephen Pelletteri and Jaclyn Loyer; two sister-in-laws, Dorothy Rusnak and Helen Bittner and three brother-in-laws, Benjamin Bittner, Jerry Meola and Frank Barbosa along with several nieces, nephews, close cousins and friends. Jean’s funeral will be held on Thursday beginning at 9 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at the Church of St. Ann. Entombment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Sea Girt. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly suggests that memorial contributions in Jean’s memory be made to the Faith Development Center, Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
