Obituary of Rozena Thomas King

Rozena Thomas King, 85, of Ewing, passed in to the pearly gates of heaven on December 22, 2009 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton NJ. Born in Cusseta, Georgia to the late Rev. John and Irene Chester Thomas, on April 4, 1924, she was a resident of Ewing Township for over 47 years and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband Sgt. Joe H. King, her daughter Joann McCrary, her granddaughter Christine Taylor, and her siblings Evelyn, Jeff, Louise, Leslie, and Elisha. Rozena retired from the Ewing Township Board of Education as a bus aide after many years of service. She always enjoyed working with children and was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rozena is survived by two daughters; Dorothy Lloyd of Hamilton, and Rosemary Taylor of Ewing, five grandchildren; Sonja Randolph and her husband John, James and Danielle McCrary, and Phillip Taylor, six great-grandchildren; Marlon, Lashay, Jasmine, Tyler, Amerah, and baby Zamorah. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother; Margaret Hightower of Atlanta, GA, Talmadge Thomas of Box Springs, GA, Maldon Thomas of Box Springs, GA, and several nieces, and nephews. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 12 PM at Poulson &Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd. Lawrenceville, NJ. Interment will follow in the Ewing Cemetery.
