Obituary of Norbert E Donelly

Norbert E. Donelly, 81, of Lawrenceville, died Thursday at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. Born in Providence , R.I. , he had resided in Lawrenceville for fifty years. Mr. Donelly was an Army veteran and served with the Army of Occupation in Europe in the aftermath of WW II. He was a graduate of Brown University Class of 1950, and played on the college football team with Joe Paterno. Mr. Donelly was a self employed management consultant and owned the Norbert E. Donelly Company in Lawrenceville. He was an avid New York Giants fan and together with his wife, Peg, supported and actively participated in the Lawrence Township and Mercer County Republican Party organizations. He enjoyed following his grandchildrens athletic and academic endeavors and his fondest memories were vacationing with his grandchildren on Cape Cod . Son of the late William and Mary Rogan Donelly, he is survived by his loving wife, Peg O'Neil Donelly, and his children; Norbert P. Donelly and his wife Ann, Naurene M. Antoniotti, Patricia A. Gilbert, and Michael S. Donelly and his wife Daria. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren; Amory, Katie, Rogan, Michael, Kevin, Sean, Megan, Kyle, Christian, Bailey, Laura, and Matthew, a brother Robert Donelly, and cousins Earl Lynch and Earl Carlin. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday between 3 and 5 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road , Lawrenceville.
