Obituary of Vernard W Clayton

Vernard W. Clayton, 93, of Lawrenceville, died Thursday at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. Born in Finger, TN., he had resided in Lawrenceville for fifty-three years. Mr. Clayton was an Army veteran of WW II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and later in the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp. He retired after twenty-seven years with Stanley Home Products and Sinclair Industrial Supply of Trenton. He was a member of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church and the Lawrence Township senior Citizens Club # 1. Son of the late Frank and Allie James Clayton, and brother of the late Elmo, Lloyd, Cecil, and Gerald Clayton, Lola Clayton, Evelyn Barham, Mildred Miller and Imogene Ruth, he is survived by his wife Margaret Courtwright Clayton, two daughters Bonita Carter of New Albany, IN., Nancy Clayton of Wrightstown, N.J., and a son Mark Clayton and his wife Laurie of Monroe, N.J. Also surviving are grandsons Clay Carter and Benjamin Clayton, granddaughters Christine Fisher and her husband Justen and Rebecca Clayton, Stephanie and Kirstin Pasewaldt and great grand children; Cole and Brooke Fisher. The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with the Rev. Nina Reeder, pastor of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, officiating.
