Obituary of John J Armstrong

John J. Armstrong Sr. 89, of Lawrenceville died Saturday at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Born in Newark, he had resided in Lawrenceville for twenty-two years. Mr. Armstrong was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was a retired laborer with Western Electric part of A.T. & T. in Kearny, N.J. Son of the late William and Anna Bradley Armstrong, he is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Bette Cotterell Armstrong, four sons John J. Armstrong Jr. and his wife Mary Jo, William H. Armstrong and his wife Maryrose, James S. Armstrong and his wife Kirsten and David R. Armstrong and his wife Marianne . Also surviving are eight grandchildren John J. III, Peter, Pat, Courtney, Christine, Jenny, Dorian and Amadeus. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in the Church of St. Ann in Lawrenceville. Burial will be in St. Hedwig Cemetery in Ewing. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
