Dear Richard and Family Members of Judith,
I am a Manager for the Healthcare Employees Federal Credit Union and I had the opportunity to meet Judith years ago as an Administrator for the Carrier Foundation. I thought so highly of Judith from when we first met and always enjoyed our conversations either on the phone or when she visited our office. I had the chance to see Judith on a couple occasions this year and she shared her illness with me. She inspired me so much with her determination and energy in how she faced being ill that I actually wrote her a note on how much she influenced me. I have been ill myself this year, but I know my condition is temporary and is not life-threatening. Her positive attitude has helped me through the past six months. We even had a laugh over how we were using matching canes.
My heartfelt sympathy to all of you. You have lost someone very special in your lives, but your memories will keep her spirit alive within each of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Linda Geiger

When we last talked,
Judy's five chemo treatments were finished, their impact yet to be determined.
Judy said she had everything she needed in her room, a new cell phone for the one that went out on her tray, her iPod, computer, and the most important, Richard.
My sympathy to Richard and Eddie and all who gave and received her love.

I was a memeber of AAUW and that is how I met Judy. We were in a book group together. She always had thughtful comments about the books we read, even if she didn't like the book. After her retirement we went out to breakfast a few times. Once she ordered a sticky bun to share after our meal, like dessert at breakfast! She was a great lady- friendly, intelligent and passionate about many causes. I will miss her.
