I met Lillian when I started my 1st year of teaching Physical Education/Health at Lanning Elementary School. I was thrilled to get my job and loved all of my colleagues who seemed like they all had many more years of experience and wisdom to share! I was happy to be the "baby" of the staff for a bit.
Lillian was magical with her Kindergartners...and her musical talent, and her consistency with early morning swim workouts, coming in daily with damp hair to prove it! She also shared stories about her dancing as she knew I though highly of any kind of exercise.
I loved parading around with Lillian for the Halloween parades...although she would retire a couple years after I stepped into the wonderful profession.
She attended quite a few of our Lanning reunion luncheons throughout the years (Joann often brought her as she closed in on 95!) I never did get to plan a final after Covid but may do so this spring in her honor.
Lillian lead a very long, active, and fulfilling life.
I am including two special photos...one of Lillian parading and playing the accordion next to me, gumby! The other the Lanning staff in maybe 1987 or so..Lillian 4th from right on the 2nd row. I loved all of our special get togethers and the teachers never seemed to mind when asked to show that extra school spirit!
