Obituary of Doris A. Bishop

Doris A. Bishop, 86, of Holland, PA passed peacefully away on Monday, March 30th at Twining Village with her family by her side. Born in Trenton, Doris was a long time resident of Ewing Township prior to moving to the Newtown/Holland area in Bucks County. She retired after 20 years of service from the College of New Jersey where she served as the secretary to the Director of Admissions. She was a volunteer at St. Mary's Medical Center in Langhorne for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Doris was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and also delighted in traveling, fishing and reading. She so much enjoyed going to the beaches of the New Jersey shore, Bethany Beach, Delaware and Siesta Key, Florida with her children and grandchildren. Daughter of the late Walter and Rebecca Weatherly Allen, wife of the late, Robert G. Bishop, mother of the late, Robert A. Bishop and sister of the late Katherine Turner, she is survived by two daughters; Linda J. Bishop and Sharon B. Nizolek; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Schmidt and her husband, Christopher, Sandra Bishop, Christopher Nizolek and Jennifer Nizolek; 3 great-grand children, Andrew, Kyle and Kameron Schmidt; 2 daughters-in-law, Theresa Bishop and Suzanne Wirth and a son-in-law, Guy S. Della Penna. Funeral services for Doris will be held on Friday, April 3rd at 11AM at the Newtown Presbyterian Church, Washington Ave. & Chancellor St., Newtown, PA. Burial will follow in the Ewing Church Cemetery Friends may call on Friday from 9 to 11 AM at the church.
