I had the privilege of playing football, basketball, and running track with Alvin at Fremont High School. Alvin was an exceptional athlete, but more importantly, he was a very kind and extremely good human being. I will remember him as a great teammate and friend.
My sympathies are extended to his brother Tim and all of his family.
God bless you Alvin.

This is quite a shock. Alvin's family has my prayers. I remember Alvin as a 'kid' back in the '70s on the track team. He held and may still hold the 100yd not meter but yard, that's a long time ago record at 9.9.

So sorry to hear of Alvin's early passing. He was one of the nicest guys in H.S. and it looks like he turned out to be a great man, son, brother, husband, and father as well. I was on the girls track team, and never missed watching Alvin run. He ran like the wind. It was a whole different race when Alvin got the baton. My deepest sympathies to you all. Love and prayers. I hadn't seen Alvin since High School graduation in 1980. At our 25th class reunion I had the opportunity to talk with Alvin at length. He was an awesome man! God be with him and his family.

Alvin and I were school mates and church mates at Fremont. We ran in the Awana Olympics together and sang duets once in a while in church. I remember he would show that big beautiful smile when others would call us salt and pepper! Take my Life, and Let It Be was one of the songs we sang in church. verse two says Take my feet and let them be Swift and Beautiful for Thee - I remember thinking that as a young girl whenever I watched you run! You ran swift and beautiful! God gave you a beautiful gift.
I am grateful to hear that you have been following the Lord throughout your life and you are with Him now. Praise God for overcoming the sting of death. I can not wait to hug you when I meet you in Heaven with our Lord and Savior. I deeply wish that I could be there celebrating your life with your family.
We are praying for your family to see God's peace and hope in this sad event.
I am so very sorry-but may HIs name be glorified.
In His Love,
Julie 'Webster Gardenour
