Obituary of Gregory L. Trumbo

Gregg Trumbo, 71, died April 23, 2024, at Princeton Medical Center after a short but valiant and courageous fight against cancer. Born in Ft. Leavenworth, KS, Gregg moved to New Jersey in 1974, and lived in Lawrenceville for 27 ½ years. Prior to Gregg’s retirement he had the pleasure of working with Connie Weiss of C.A. Weiss Sales, LLC, Chester Springs, PA. His working experiences included commercial roofing, consultant, business owner and commercial sales rep. Gregg enjoyed spending good times with the “love of his life, Cecilia,” favorite grandson, “Mr. Dane,” daughter, Melissa, his sassy grandpuppy, Ms. GiGi, along with friends and family. One of Gregg’s biggest accomplishments and hobby was the pride he took in restoring his 1986 Corvette. Son of the late Leland and Ann Trumbo, predeceased by sister, Rendy Dunn, he is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia Trumbo, daughter, Melissa S. Esser and grandson, Dane M. Dengler both of Lawrenceville and his son, Darryl A. Esser, of Texas, sisters-in-law, Gloria Scharer, Macungie, PA, and Patricia Szeplaki (John), Upper Black Eddy, PA, brother-in-law Paul (Patty) Pogorzelski, Manahawkin, NJ, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, 10 a.m., at St. James Chapel, 6 Englantine Avenue, Pennington, NJ. Attendees are asked to arrive to the church no later than 9:45AM. Interment will be private for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gregg’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
