Obituary of Todd W. Mansmann

Todd Mansmann, 45, died on Dec. 23, 2023 in Jacksonville, Florida. Todd attended Lawrence High and Johnson and Wales Culinary School. He was a gymnastics coach and more recently a handyman and waiter. Todd struggled for a very long time with the demons of self-worth and depression, and sadly took his own life. He was a special person caught in the throes of this serious illness that impacts so many lives. Todd had an infectious love of life and of people and tried valiantly to overcome his illnesses. Todd will be remembered for his kindness and compassion for others – he would generously give to those in need, or he would pay for a meal for someone who couldn’t afford it at the restaurant where he worked. He loved children and always cherished his gymnastics coaching days. He was a sensitive person and enjoyed the arts, whether it was playing the piano, painting, writing poems, cooking, singing tunes from Les Miz at the top of his lungs, or enjoying the outdoors and nature at his favorite beach in Jacksonville. Todd touched the lives of many throughout his life. His smile, caring, gentleness, kindness and loving, will be missed by many, but not forgotten. But we know his pain is now gone and he can rest in God’s loving arms. Todd had many family members and friends who loved him. He is survived by parents William J. & Terrie L. Mansmann of Lawrenceville, NJ; sister Ginger & husband Sean Baker of Hamilton, NJ; brother Dennis Mansmann of Hamilton, NJ; beloved girlfriend, Karen Rice of Jacksonville, FL & her children Harper and Anna who he also loved; Aunts & Uncles: Holly & Michael Dansbury of Bolton Landing, NY; Frank Danley of Colfax, NC; Jack & Beth Mansmann of Anderson South Carolina; Jane Mansmann of Lawrenceville, NJ; Uncle to: Ian Wells & fiancé Amber Woodward of Philadelphia, PA; Brent Wells & husband Alex Overby of Santa Barbara, CA; Cassidy Mansmann & Reed Doerler of Hamilton, NJ. Also, Todd is survived by cousins: James Hulick of Michigan; Michael & Miriam Mansmann & children of Jackson, Mississippi; Thomas & Monika Mansmann & children of Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania; Kristen & Ben Petrick & children of Lawrenceville, NJ; Donald Danley of North Carolina. Todd had many friends, especially his best friend John & Robin Angelini of Allentown, NJ. Todd was pre-deceased by grandparents Frank & Adele Danley and John & Leah Mansmann, Aunt Penny Danley-Gravatt, and cousin, Tracey Hulick. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00AM at Slackwood Presbyterian Church, 2020 Brunswick Avenue, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Attendees are asked to arrive to the church by 10:45AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the Slackwood Presbyterian Church at 2020 Brunswick Avenue, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
