Obituary of Wanda A. Santello

Wanda Ann Santello, 85, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Saturday October 21, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born originally in Poland, she was relocated as a young child, along with her mother, to a Siberian work camp during World War II following the Soviet invasion of Poland. After evacuations were ordered, she and her mother were evacuated to Iran as a brief stop before being relocated to Africa. After several years in Africa, she relocated to England, where she spent most of her teenage years. Ultimately, immigrating to the United States as a young adult with her family. Together with her husband, she raised her family and built a wonderful life in Lawrence Township for the last 63 years. After residing in the United States, she worked as a decorator in various porcelain and pottery factories within Trenton, most notably Stangl Pottery. Later in life she worked within the Lawrence Township Public School System and The Lawrenceville School before retiring to spent time with her beloved grand-daughters. Cooking delicious meals and treats for her family brought her so much happiness. Spending time and traveling with her family brought her the most joy. She enjoyed hitting the casinos with her husband in their free time. Wanda loved people and would go out of her way to make anyone she met feel special. She had a great sense of humor and was truly a larger than life personality. Daughter of the late Filip and Ludwiga Cichura; she is survived by her loving husband Robert N. Santello; two loving children; daughter Michelle Santello- Hunt and her husband James; son Robert M. Santello and his wife Dawn; and two grand-daughters Katelyn and Haley Santello. She left a lasting touch on all that she met and will be deeply missed by many friends, neighbors, and coworkers. A memorial service will be held on Friday October 27, 2023 at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors 650 Lawrence Road. Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
