Obituary of Jean H. Riley

Jean Hart Riley, 88, died August 30, 2023, at home, surrounded by her family. Born in Trenton, she resided in Ewing for 62 years, in the home she built with her late husband, Howard Riley. Mrs. Riley was a 1953 graduate of Hamilton High School and continued her education at Trenton State College. She retired as Executive Secretary to the Superintendent from the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf in 1991 after over 25 years of service. Daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Betz) Hart, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Drew H. and Christine A. Riley, of Yardley, PA. She is also survived by her grandson, Christopher A. Riley and his husband Daniel L. Hooven, of Arlington, VA. Mrs. Riley is also survived by her sister and best friend, Elizabeth Pason, and brother-in-law Edward Pason, of Ewing, NJ, as well as niece Leah Pason, of Yardley, PA, and nephew Neal Pason, his wife Judi and great-nieces McKenna and Holly Pason, all of Kintnersville, PA, and great-nephew Carter Pason, of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by her dear friend, Theresa Kozar of Ewing, NJ. Mrs. Riley was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and great-aunt who loved her family dearly and she will be deeply missed. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial in Ewing Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulson and Van Hise, Lawrenceville, NJ.
