Obituary of Lois Sally Davidson

Lois Sally Davidson, née Greenwald, 86, of Alexandria, VA, known as Weezie to most and Moggie to her family, passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2022. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, loyal friend, and mentor. Born February 13, 1936, in Trenton, NJ, Weezie was a longtime resident of Trenton and Princeton, identifying as a “proud Trentonian” throughout her life. She later moved to New York and then retired to Long Beach Island, NJ, and Longboat Key, FL. She recently moved to Alexandria, VA. Weezie graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1953 and Sarah Lawrence College in 1957. She taught in various schools including Miss Mason's School (Princeton, NJ), the Ethical Culture Fieldston School (New York, NY), and Westorchard Elementary School (Chappaqua, NY). Throughout her years in public and private school systems alike, she was able to share her love of service, art, nature, and sustainability well before it was trendy. Weezie greeted anyone she met with the same smile and twinkle in her eye, doling out charm, respect, and pleasantries—even with complete strangers—in abundance. She found the light in everyone and dedicated her life to service. Weezie adored her late husband, Carl Barry Davidson, and supported his work on the Texaco Foundation. Weezie treasured her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed painting, knitting, reading, dancing, gambling, ballet, opera, and the arts. She was small yet mighty, and always had room for bread and pastries. Weezie is survived by her children, Andy (Tiffany) Davidson, and Jane Shelton; three adoring grandchildren, Jordan Davidson, Megan and Merritt Shelton, and many dear family members and friends.
