Obituary of Mary Anne M. Mattek
Please share a memory of Mary Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary Anne Conti Mattek passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the age of 81, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.
She was a bright shining light in our world and will be deeply missed. Mary Anne was born to (the late) Armand Conti and Anne Vannozzi Conti on June 16, 1941 in the Chambersburg area of Trenton, New Jersey.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Richard Lawrence Mattek, of Hamilton, New Jersey; her daughter Julie Anne Townsend Maigret and son-in-law Robert Joseph Maigret of Los Angeles, California; and her son, Ryan Thomas Mattek, and daughter-in-law Trina Corinne Mattek of Chesterfield, New Jersey; her grandchildren, Ryan Thomas Mattek, Jr, and Bella Corinne Mattek of Chesterfield, New Jersey, were the sunshine of her life. She is also survived by her brothers, Gerald Conti of Sarasota, Florida, Michael Conti of Ruskin, Florida, and Richard Conti of Hamilton, New Jersey, along with countless nieces and nephews. She adored them all.
She was predeceased by her brother Robert Conti and sister Vivian Conti Abbott, and the thought of being reunited with her little brother and big sister gave her great joy and comfort during the last phase of her life. We imagine they are all together right now, talking loudly over coffee and cannolis in heaven.
Mary Anne was a dedicated Christian and member of Allentown Presbyterian Church who strived to be the best person she could be, and lived a full life, one filled with laughter and gratitude for the many blessings that surrounded her. She made the world better and brighter, and will be remembered for her selflessness, generosity and humility, and as an eternal caretaker who excelled at making those around her feel deeply loved and appreciated.
Services in her honor will be held sometime in 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in her honor to Tunnel To Towers Foundation and better Together Forever.
