Obituary of Mary "Pauline" Converse

Mary Pauline Converse passed away peacefully on September 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Pauline was known as Mom, Grandma, G-Mom and GG, all names she treasured. Left behind to mourn her passing are her children, Claudia Mary Phillips, Julie Converse Andrus (Dave); Caroline Converse Greber (Jim), Christine Converse Hogan (Paul); Eric Converse (Bob Beauregard) and Tom Converse. She also leaves behind her nine grandchildren, Katharine, Jenna, Erika, Alexandria, Melissa, Sean, Kevin, Jimmie and Megan. And her ten precious great-grandchildren Masson, Hunter, Journey, Reagan, Lincoln, Charlotte, Grayson, Connor, Mackenzie and Harper. And her beloved cat, Charlie. Pauline is predeceased by her husband, Ed, of 53 years and her grandson, Ian. Pauline grew up in Franklin Springs, NY and moved to New York City in her early twenties to attend Katharine Gibbs Academy. Pauline and Ed married and raised six children in Lawrenceville, NJ. In her later years, she was fortunate to travel in the US and Europe on many trips with her family creating cherished memories. However, simply being with her family regardless of location, was what she enjoyed most. Pauline and her entire family were very proud of her 42 years in AA. Pauline was a regular AA Speaker and a supportive Sponsor. Pauline had a fabulous sense of humor, a great laugh and was an incredible storyteller. Other words consistently used to describe her were “stoic” and “stunning,” but to her family she was simply kind, loving and strong. Her family finds comfort in what Queen Elizabeth II said that “grief is the price you pay for love” – sometimes it means our sadness is complimented by how much love we gave and received. She was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Sept 16th at 12noon at The Stone Terrace by John Henry's located at 2275 Kuser Road, Hamilton, NJ 08690. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Francis Hospital.
