Obituary of Kathleen Spencer

Kathleen Spencer, 89, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Cape Coral Medical Center, Cape Coral, Florida. Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a longtime resident of Hopewell before moving to Cape Coral FL. She was employed full time for Pennington Quality Market, after retiring from McClean Engineering as a machine operator. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Kathleen loved gardening and hosting family picnics as her home in Hopewell. She loved watching game shows of all kinds in her later years. Daughter of the late Leland and Margaret Stanford, wife of the late Shirrell W. Spencer who died in 1982; she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Ronnie Leggio, her son Shirrell R. Spencer, and her daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Alexander Gorski; her grandsons David and Jeffrey Johnson, and Malcolm and Mathew Sawyer; her granddaughter Shannon Spencer; four great-grandchildren Austin, Aubree, Kelsey and Michael; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery, Hopewell, NJ. The viewing for Kathleen will be held on Friday morning from 10-11AM at the funeral home.
