Edith Correia, 79, of Trenton died peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton.
Born in Trenton Edith was a lifelong area resident. She retired in 2019 after 20 years of dedicated service with the Value Plus store in Trenton. She was also a representative for Avon Products for many years. Active in her children’s education she was also a member and served on the school’s P.T.O Board.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Edith Tucker Thorpe, predeceased by her many siblings she is survived by her husband Joseph P. Correia, Jr., her children, Joshua Baylor, III, Josephine Hemingway, David L. Correia, Lisa A. Taylor and husband Darryl, Delores Correia, Joseph P. Correia, III and wife Barbara, Anthony B. Correia and wife Lawon and Latiosha M. Correia; her grandchildren, Shawn Thorpe, Jermaine Thorpe, Sherica Thorpe, Samika Glenn, Bruce A. Correia, Devine D. Fletcher, Jamil Correia, Ilrasha Correia, Shenique Correia, Monique Correia, Gabriel Correia, Joshua Baylor, Karen Baylor, David Baylor, Kindra Robinson, Jarrod Jefferson, Alisha Edwards, Mileah Correia, London Jung and Andre Young; her brother Blithe Thorpe; 2 great-grandchildren and her special friends Barbara Gibson and Rena Moaning.
Funeral services for Edith will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. The Rev. Dr. Timothy L. Jordan of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Friday from 10 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
