Janet E. “Nan” Groover, 84, of Lawrenceville died peacefully at home on Saturday October 30, 2021. Born in Trenton, Janet was a resident of Lawrenceville most of her life. She was a former employee of the Annex restaurant in Princeton for many years. “Nan” as she was lovingly known to many enjoyed camping, trips to Parx Casino and entertaining the many friends and family that came to her house daily to enjoy her company. She was a Life Member of the Lawrence Road Volunteer Fire Company, Station 22, Ladies Auxiliary. Daughter of the late Karl and Edna Marcellious Bohn, wife of the late Clinton W. Groover and mother of the late Debra Lynn Laird and Donna Lee Macheda, Nan is survived by her son-in-law, Thomas Macheda, her grandchildren Christopher Laird and his wife Kelly and RJ Laird, III and his wife Katelyn; also surviving is her great-grandson Ryan James Laird and her nieces Kathleen Groover and Khristine Green and of course her fur baby great-grandchildren and many cousins and friends. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday November 9, 2021 at 1 PM at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Memorial contributions to honor Nan may be made to the Lawrence Road Fire Company, 1252 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648 or to the Lawrence Township Fraternal Order of Police, FOP Lodge #209, PO Box 6305 Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
