Obituary of Merle J. Preston

Merle J. Preston, 69, of Hamilton, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his sister’s home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Neptune, NJ, he was a former resident of Burlington Twp., and Bordentown, before moving to Hamilton. Merle is a retiree of Simon & Shuster, where he was employed as a factory worker for many years. Some of his hobbies included camping, and watching re-runs old-time TV Shows. Merle enjoyed trips to the Jersey Shore and vacationing at his time shares with his wife. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Evelyn Preston, his brother Robert Preston, his brothers-in-law Walter Panek, Peter Yurcho, and his wife Susan Preston; he is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Virginia Panek, Walter and Cindy Leach, Shirley Yurcho, and Cindy and Richard Boothby; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Merle will be laid to rest with his wife Susan in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton. **Please wear masks while attending the all services for Merle** The viewing will be held on Friday morning from 10-11AM at the funeral home.
