Obituary of Anna J. Misanin

Anna J. Misanin, 86, of Hamilton passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. Predeceased by her parents Mary K. Misanin and Michael Misanin, her brother Mike, sister Virginia (Ginnie), and sister-in-law Helen Misanin, she is survived by her brother James and sister and brother-in-law Mary and Albert Rossi, many nieces and nephews, a very special sister-in-law, Yumiko Misanin and Anna’s companion George Cohen. Anna entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1953 until 1972. She taught first grade in Bound Brook, Bordentown, Cinnaminson and Trenton. She was also a consultant for the Raerdon and Baer Publishing Company. In 1972 she started employment with the New Jersey Department of Corrections at the State Home for Girls in Trenton followed by the Jamesburg and Skillman Homes for Boys and, lastly, at the Yardville Reception Center. Anna retired in 1994 and spent time travelling. Funeral services for Anna will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday morning from 10-11AM at the funeral home.
