Salvatore “Sam” Morreale, Sr., 88, of Hamilton, died peacefully on Friday at Capital Health Medical Center at Hopewell. Born in Trenton, Sam was a resident of Lawrenceville for many years before moving to Hamilton Township in 2006. Sam served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a Machinist and Maintenance Foreman with the Homasote Company for 31 years until he retired in 1994. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and family vacations in Seaside, New Jersey. He served his community as a member of the Trenton Elks B.P.O.E. #105 and loved a good round of golf, but most of all he adored his grandchildren and often hosted large family gatherings, which were always filled with laughter, food and love. Son of the late Charles Morreale Sr. and Constance Carlisi Morreale; brother of the late Antoinette “Dot”Morreale, John Morreale, and Marion Deutscher; father-in-law of the late John F. X. Stever, II; and brother-in-law of the late Sylvia Morreale, Sam is survived by his wife of 65 years Marion Masalski Morreale; his daughters Kathleen M. Stever, and Deborah Gigliotti and her husband Joseph; his son Salvatore Morreale, Jr; his grandchildren John Stever and his wife Laura, Matthew Stever, Andrew Krause and his wife Liz, Eric Krause, Miranda Krause and Megan Morreale; his brother Charles D. Morreale, Jr.; his sister-in-law Lois Brand and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 noon at St. Hedwig Church, 872 Brunswick Ave, Trenton. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors 650 Lawrence Road Lawrenceville, NJ. Due to mandated gathering restrictions masks must be worn, and social distancing and building capacity will be enforced. Memorial contributions to honor Sam may be made to St. Hedwig Church, 872 Brunswick Ave., Trenton, NJ 08690.
