I was devastated when I saw that Joan passed away - she was a wonderful sweet lady, when I still worked for the State she was my Payroll person for many years. She and I would always chat about the holidays, family get togethers & many other conversations I had with her over the years. My sincerest condolences to her family - I know that she will be missed - may she rest in peace.

Joan encouraged me in my career in State Government when we met at Treasury during new employee induction - and inspiring to me in my life when we met at Immaculate Conception Church for St Patrick's Day Mass in Irish and she took an interest in my own travels and work in Wales and England.

Joan was a special lady. We are grateful to have had her touch our lives. She welcomed us into her home and her family without reservation. She taught me how to fully live the life God gifted us with, then she taught me how to die. Our only regret is that our time with her was so short. Her presence will be with us for the rest of our lives, guiding us. Thank you, Joan. We share the loss of you with Andy, your children and grandchildren. With love and tears, from Harold and Mary

I first met Joan at yoga classes in Lawrence library and thoroughly enjoyed our conversations before and after class. Not long afterward I met Joan in my office building and we realized we were both Treasury employees and were only 2 floors away!
Everytime I ran into her it was a delight. Our prayers and condolences to Andy, her sons and the O'Rahilly family.

I am so sad to hear of Joan's passing. I was privileged to talk and laugh with her when Andy (Aindreas) brought her to the library where she volunteered with him a few years ago. Joan made me laugh every time she came to visit. I know she loved Irish dancing and music so I'm sure as I type this, she's doing a step-dance with the Lord!

From our first meeting in the mid 80’s we built a friendship that was a blessing in our lives. The memories of all the laughs, the meals, the trips, the hugs we shared we will hold in our hearts and in our minds forever. Joan was a sweet, gentle, selfless lady who loved God, her family, her friends, flowers, the birds, reading, dancing and, her Irish heritage. She gave of herself tirelessly in service to others .
She will never be forgotten.
Rest in Heavenly Peace Joan. “Well done good, and faithful servant.”
