I was so sad to learn of Len's passing. I also had the pleasure and honor of working with him at People to People International for many years. He was truly an inspiration to so many - locally and internationally. I was always so impressed at how much he worked and supported the young people to get them involved in PTPI and mentor them in a leadership capacity. May memories of good times and laughter shared help you through the difficult moments. It was an honor to consider Len a friend. May his name always be a blessing.

Denise and family,
A sad day for the 112th Field Artillery Assoc. My sincere condolences on the recent passing of Len. Having known Colonel Tharney for many years, it was a privilege to serve with him and under him. The 112th FA Assoc. has a motto "A Outrance" on their crest, a French term meaning "to the utmost". Len, was a true professional and highly respected officer, and surely gave his utmost to the New Jersey Army National Guard. Rest in peace, Colonel, you have served your country, state, and family well.
MG (USA-Retired) Richard S. Schneider
