Obituary of Joan A. Maybury

Joan A. (Margerum) Maybury, 80, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Princeton Care Center, with family by her side. Born and raised in Princeton, she earned an LPN at the Metropolitan School of Nursing in NYC, and worked as a visiting nurse before settling back in Lawrenceville to raise her family. After working for Stout Bus Company for many years, she retired from Princeton Medical Center after a long career in the Emergency and Registration departments. In retirement, she volunteered with Interfaith Caregivers through St. Ann Church as a friendly visitor, driver, and communicant for the homebound, as well as Lawrenceville Meals on Wheels, and the Lawrenceville Library. Daughter of the late Francis and Ann Margerum, wife of the late Eugene Maybury, their infant daughter, Susan and grandson, Tyler Hulse; she leaves behind to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Mary Maybury; her daughters, Sharon and Joseph Betsy and Laurie and George Hulse; eight beloved grandchildren and their spouses and six great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Robert Knapp, along with many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. All who knew her will remember her sharp wit and deep love of family trips, reading, and friends gathering to share laughter, a cup of coffee, or, better yet, a nice glass of wine! A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:30AM at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Relatives and friends can visit from 10:30AM to 11:30AM in the daily chapel prior to the mass. Donations in her memory may be made to The St. Vincent DePaul Society at the Church of St. Ann, or Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK).
