On behalf of the officers and members of Philadelphia Chapter, NRHS, we extend our deepest sympathy to the Harmon family on John's passing from this life. John had been a member since 1964, and was well-known to many of our members for his rail mileage travels over the years. Larry Eastwood, President, Philadelphia Chapter, NRHS.

John was a dear friend and by far the most magnanimous man I ever met. He was a major supporter of many railroad steam revival projects ( always behind the curtain and usually anonymously) and his support was the critical ingredient in many projects succeeding.
He will be sorely missed by all who called him a friend.
May the good Lord bless Elaine and the rest of the family with strength during this difficult period.
R.I.P. dear friend.

It was my pleasure to have know John for the last 12 years as teammates on the Mt. View Golf Team in the NJ Senior Golf League.
John was a tremendous competitor on the links and opponents knew that they were in for a tough match.
John had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on to tell a good story about his life.
I will miss him!

I'm sorry to hear about this. I haven't seen John in many years, and back then he was getting back into wrestling heavily as I was getting out. He was as passionate and as knowledgeable about wrestling and Lehigh as anyone I'd ever met. He was an incredibly nice and generous man, and a good sport on the golf course. May the Lord bless him and his family.
