Kenneth R. Russo, 97, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Ken was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville, before moving to Phoenixville 6 years ago to be closer to his family. Ken was a Veteran of WWII, having proudly and honorably served his country with the US Army. While stationed in Florence, Italy during the war, he met and married Ida (nee Del Franco) Russo. He is a retiree of the United States Postal service, retiring as a clerk from the Main Office on Rt. 130 in Hamilton. Ken was an avid and lifelong New York Yankees fan, enjoyed watching golf and football. Some of his hobbies included cooking, gardening and spending time with his family.
Son of the late Frank and Mary Russo; father of the late Kenneth Russo, Jr., brother of the late John and Anthony Russo and Rose Agabiti, husband of the late Ida Russo; he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Richard Phillips; three grandchildren Morgan Russo, Matthew and his wife Ashley Phillips and Erin and her husband Jonathan Gouveia; his great-granddaughter Alexandra Phillips; his sister-in-law Marie Russo; one niece and four nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11AM at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton, NJ.
Relatives and friends can call for Ken on Wednesday morning in the daily chapel from 10-11AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund PO Box 37839, Boone IA 50037-0839.
