Obituary of Vito Jack Bittner

Vito Jack Bittner, of Lawrenceville, died Tuesday in Capital Health System at Fuld.
Born in Newark, he was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville.
Mr. Bittner retired in 1985 as the assistant director with the Fiscal Division of Mental Health and Hospitals for the State of New Jersey.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.
He received his B.A. in business and his M.B.A. from Seton Hall University.
He was a member of the Lawrence Council #7000 Knights of Columbus and the Church of St. Ann where he served as an usher and money counter.
His other memberships include the Association of Mental Health Administrators, American Society of Public Administration, American Management Association, International Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association, New Jersey Hospital Association and the Council of Professional Practices Committee on Publicly-Owned Hospitals.
Son of the late Jacob and Dorothy Koslovski Bittner, he is survived by his wife Jean LaMotta Bittner, two daughters Karen Pelletteri and her husband Barry and Lynn Loyer and her husband Mark, three grandchildren Kristin and Stephen Pelletteri and Jaclyn Loyer. Also surviving are two sisters Dorothy Rusnak and Helen Bittner, a brother Benjamin Bittner, and a brother-in-law Jerry Meola and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville on Thursday at 10 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in the Church of St. Ann in Lawrenceville. Entombment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery Mausoleum in Sea Girt.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:30 at the funeral home. The Knights of Columbus will offer a service at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family strongly suggests that memorial contributions in Jack's memory be made to the Faith Development center, Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
