Eugen Iliescu, 90, of Lawrenceville died peacefully at home on Sunday, November 20 surrounded by his family. Born in Pacrovca Noua, Ukraine, Eugen attended the Ienachita Vacarescu National College and also graduated from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy with his PhD in Pharmacy. He retired after 50 years of service, in the year 2000, with the rank of Colonel, from the Central Military Hospital in Bucharest, Romania. Son of the late Petre and Maria Iliescu, husband of the late Aurora Alexandrescu Iliescu and brother of the late, Ovidiu Iliescu, Eugen is survived by his daughter, Liliana Cecan and her husband Dorin; his grandchildren, Doana Guerrero and her husband Daniel, Loriana Mitchell and her husband Robert, and Nicolae Eugen Cecan and his fiancé Cynthia Truong; his great-grandchildren, Elora, Anabela and Aiden Guerrero and Marguerite Mitchell; his brother, Valentin Iliescu and his wife Liliana and his nephews, Nicolae and Cristian Iliescu. Funeral services for Eugen will be held on Friday, November 25 at 12 Noon at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with the Rev. George David, Pastor of St. Basil’s Romanian Catholic Church officiating. Burial will take place next to his wife in Romania. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Basil’s Romanian Catholic Church, 238 Adeline Street, Trenton, NJ 08611.
