Michael M. Popovich, Sr. 79, of Ewing, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ, Michael was a resident of Ewing for 56 years. He was a graduate of Trenton Catholic High School, Class of 1955. In 1958, “Mick” married his sweetheart and best friend, Irene Andrzejewski. Michael retired in 1994 from Wells Fargo Bank, where he was employed as a Loan Officer for many years. Post retirement, he worked with disabled children and senior citizens, all of whom enjoyed his big colorful personality. In his free time Michael enjoyed grilling, entertaining, fishing, playing golf, spending time with his grandchildren and going to all their activities, maintaining his beautiful property and the Philadelphia Eagles. Above all else, Michael was the very definition of a family man. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, Pop-pop, uncle, brother, and friend who will be sorely missed. Son of the late John W. and Mary Popovich; he is survived by his wife Irene Popovich; three sons and one daughter-in-law Michael M. Popovich, Jr., Mark Popovich, Gregg and Helen Popovich; his daughter Elizabeth Popovich; four grandchildren Nicholas, Olivia, Lucas and Mia Popovich; his brother John Popovich, Jr; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass for Michael will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11AM at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
