Obituary of Vera Petrella

Vera Petrella, 80, of Morrisville and formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Twining Village, Holland, PA Born in Isola del Gran Sasso Italy, she was a longtime resident of Princeton and Lawrenceville, before moving to Morrisville. Vera was a homemaker. She was a parishioner at The Church of St. Ann. Some of her hobbies included sewing, knitting, and cooking. Vera was known for tasty baked goods and her pasta with meatballs. Many times with no notice she had pasta cooking and ready for 20 people by the time everyone arrived. Vera was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Daughter of the late Ermenegildo and Margherita Tobia; wife of the late Alberto Petrella; she is survived by her daughter and caregiver Marisa Petrella; her son and daughter-in-law Albert Jr. and Sheila Petrella; her daughter and son-in-law Margaret Petrella and Gary McKissick; her grandchildren Zoe, Yvette, Erin, Cailin, Eliza, Angela and Jenna; two brothers and one sister Ernesto, Gianni and Esterina; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will begin at 9AM on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton. Relatives and friends can call on Thursday from 2-4PM and from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
